    Xiaomi 15 Series Launched in China: First Flagship with Snapdragon 8 Elite

    Xiaomi has officially launched its latest Xiaomi 15 series in China, introducing several groundbreaking features as the first phones to include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The lineup includes the Xiaomi 15, 15 Pro, and a special custom edition that offers a whopping 20 colors.


    Design and Display

    The Xiaomi 15 continues with a 6.36-inch LTPO OLED display similar to previous models, offering 120Hz refresh rate and 1200 x 2670px resolution. With an impressive 3,200 nits peak brightness, the display also includes DC dimming for optimized viewing in darker environments. The screen is shielded by Dragon Crystal glass, a Xiaomi-exclusive that claims 10x the durability of Gorilla Glass Victus.

The phone pairs up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM with 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage for a smooth multitasking experience. Xiaomi has also debuted HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, which promises better animations, improved AI features, and faster performance.

    The Xiaomi 15 series features a 50MP triple camera setup with minor but meaningful improvements:

    1. Main Camera: 50 MP, with 23mm wide lens and OIS.
    2. Telephoto Camera: 50 MP, 60mm lens with 3x optical zoom; doubles as a macro lens.
    3. Ultrawide: 50 MP, 115° field of view.

    The front camera includes a 32MP sensor capable of recording 4K at 60 FPS, ideal for high-quality selfies and video calls.

    The battery capacity on the Xiaomi 15 has seen a notable increase to 5,400 mAh, up from 4,610 mAh in the previous model. The device supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi’s G1 battery chip promises to keep 80% battery health even after 1,600 charge cycles.

    • Diamond Edition: Priced at $842, features a crocodile leather back and a 57-facet diamond.
    • Custom Edition: Available in 20 colors for a price of $702.
